Getting the vaccine – 1st dose? woohoo!!
If you haven’t gotten your first done, do not be scared! The nurses are super friendly at the GGD in Holland. I actually didn’t feel mine because I was too busy chatting it up, which I am thankful for because I did not want to pass out, like some of my friends ( I won’t say names but I will say both a girl and a guy) The main thing to bring with you is your ID, appointment invitation and health form all filled out. If you are lucky, you get modern but if you are luckier, you get Pfizer.
Both vaccines are very efficient and also are allowed in most countries (Can’t wait to visit Canada). However, if you are foreign and want to come to the EU (hello Russians and Asian friends), things might be a bit complicated for now because if you didn’t get the allowed vaccines (like Pfizer, moderna, aztra and Jansen) then your entry might be a bit of a challenge.
What to do now that I have my first dose?
Well… my simple recommendation is to “STAY ALERT”. Just because you got the first dose, does not mean that the whole pandemic magically disappeared and you won’t put your loved ones at risk. Literally, take precaution and don’t messed it up for the ones that are fighting for a long term good cause.
EFFECTS OF THE FIRST DOSE TAKE ONE TO TWO WEEKS PEOPLE. Just because you got your first dose, does not mean that you should literally go to the clubs or put your guards down. AS MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN DOING. Don’t be a d*ck.
The delta varian is hiding everywhere. It is probably waiting on the corner of your room to come and strike anytime soon. Okay maybe not. But my point is that you are not safe until you get your second dose, AND EVEN THEN, YOU HAVE TO WAIT TWO TO THREE WEEKS for the vaccines to be protective.
This is so important because as you can see many people in the Netherlands have the freedom and yolo selfish mentality that I will never understand. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE A GOOD PARTY, CLUBS & SEEING MY FRIENDS. but I also would love to travel and see my parents, would love to stay healthy not just for me but my future generation. I love keeping the people around me safe, you should too.
Conclusion
Stay safe, think twice. Just because you have your first shot, does not mean that you can’t expose others to the Delta variant or hospital. Example: Holland with cases going from 900 to 10,000 in a few days. like come on. This could of been avoided but I guess the “yolo” mentality hasn’t left for some.
