2021 + 1
Happy New Years!!! Feliz año Nuevo!!! Can you believe the time has gone by so fast? well.. as much as we did a lot of working from home, lockdown and testing this past year, there are also a lot of historic moments to celebrate. I don’t know about you but I sure was really happy to receive my vaccines, not only to keep away from covid and keep my streak of not being infected *knocks on wood* but also to be able to FINALLY go home and reunite with my parents.
There is not a better feeling than getting into an airplane with a known destination filled with love, happiness and good memories awaiting. I cannot tell you how miserable I was not being able to see my family for more than two years due to the pandemic. A cheers for those that can relate to that feeling and look forward to getting their booster for future travels. (specially in Holland, it will expire soon)
2022
Unsure of what the year will bring, either less mutations or more depressions. At least we can all be proud of the historic moment we are experiencing together with different memories. Some people might have the best memories of being on lockdown with their “bubble” friends, other might have the saddened memory of loosing their beloved ones. I hope 2022 is a year to keep remembering the ones that fought until the end. I hope there is more positivity and opportunities to create beautiful memories.
Frankly, I think this year will have a balance of good and bad. Of course with the new boosters, there is a higher chance to go back to some sort of normality. But as we already experienced, the cases are going up so I do think that this year will bring a lot of what we relived during the beginning of the pandemic, lockdowns.
Be realistic
Of course, we have the responsibility to keep our loved ones safe whilst also taking care of our mental health. Surround yourself with friends, make plans but keep in mind that we are living through unexpected times, so even if you think how the pandemic will go or looks like, we really don’t know anything because the next day anything could change. I mean, one day we were all living life how it was normal and grew up with, nowadays there are children who their norm is learning online. Adapt, get the vax and keep brave.
