It’s already been 3 weeks since the news broke out about an invasion in Ukraine from Russia’s side. It has also been 3 weeks since the world has been shocked and affected by the economical and emotional repercussion from this war. Which as a result will probably last a long while. Not only are diplomatic issues arising but the economy (if you own a car, you would also see the high prices of oil) of many countries are worrisome.
If you are living in Europe specifically, it has been three weeks since the scary sensation of being a witness of the fall of humanity from the threat of nuclear bombs. Most expats that are residing in European countries learned and read about the world war that happened many years ago in school.. but to maybe experience the beginning of a new one, that’s one of the scariest feeling to experience.
What can we do for Ukraine?
If you are on any social media, there are a lot of initiatives to help those migrating out of Ukraine for their own safety. The following are a few ideas:
- Rent an Airbnb in Ukraine. Although you won’t be travelling there, the money can surely help a family.
- Share their resumes on LinkedIn with your network. As many Ukrainians are migrating to other European countries, they are also looking to settle and find a job to support their stay. In Holland, as of yesterday, Ukrainians migrating here do not need a work permit, they can just work freely (common theme around other countries too!!)
- you can donate on the United Nations world food programme so that they can provide a meal to Ukrainians family!
- you can repost tiktok/stories of families in Ukraine that are sharing messages to their loved ones away or just telling their story
- Research about what truly is happening from reliable sources, as there are many propagandas and manipulation of the media these days
Narcissism leadership shouldn’t be the cause for so many innocent deaths
We had a pandemic that took the lives of so many innocent people, let’s not let human errors also take the lives of so many. It is always in this situations that the ones who are working to sustain their families, the ones who suffer the most while the rich gain from war.
We live in a crazy world. Let’s educate ourselves before supporting or assuming who is right or wrong, the main focus should be to avoid these acts of violence that are scarring many people, including myself, from the length that a human can go to get their own way.
Don’t forget to be kind. Let’s not put everyone in the same bag of judgement.
Stay strong Ukrainians, the whole world is rooting for you..
