So I am still recovering from the fact that the year of 2022 has ended. I don’t know about you but to me it felt like it went by WAYYY too fast. YET, I am so grateful for all the memories, learnings and growth that 2022 printed in my mind. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Feliz Año Nuevo!! LET THE MANIFESTATIONS AND RESOLUTIONS BEGIN.
Resolutions – best way to track them
Now, I know many people, including myself, make a list of resolutions that you want to accomplish during the year. However, one of the most difficult parts of this process is keeping track of whether you have accomplished them or not. To be fair, not everyone will put a check mark on every resolution made. Hence, I decided that for this year, I will try to focus on monthly resolutions. By doing this, it is way more efficient to define, track and complete a resolution. Ex. Many people aim to go to the gym this year or focus more on exercising. However, that is a very BROAD goal.
In order to really make sure that you are motivated to complete your resolution, you should change it to “I will go to the gym times a week or 12 times a month”. This will not only ease the pressure of completing your resolution but also be so proud of the steps you did to actually complete it and be more consistent. The easy part of every resolution is coming up with ideas but the hardest is to actually implement them and complete them.
Another really nice way of making sure that you track your resolution is to have one each month. Most people have 5 resolutions at the same time for the year but if you break them down by month, then you have time to focus on each of them individually! By the end of the year, you will be amazed at how much you actually completed. And if you didn’t, you can carry them over to the next month. However, it is always very important to be disciplined and keep a deadline for you resolution.
What should be my main goal for this 2023?
Sometimes it is easy to get carried away and do the standard goals that everyone shares on facebook or in group chats, like the “goal to be happy!”. Whilst we should always strive to be happy, it never hurts to go beyond the standard. An important exercise that I recommend, and do myself, is to ask one self, “What do I need this year that I didn’t get last year?”; or analyze your present moment and ask yourself “What do I want to accomplish to look back a year from today and be proud?”.
Everybody has different needs, whether it is physical or emotional, work or study related, it is always better to make goals that will directly help you become a better person and live your life to the fullest.
Conclusion
Remember, it is not the the amount of resolutions you make, but whether you can achieve it or not. It might not always be easy, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
Additionally, if you have friends supporting you, together you can strive for a better way to achieve them!
To whoever is reading this, May 2023 bring you wonderful memories, lots of wisdom, much health and an abundance of success.
